About the Workshop
Join us for an exciting workshop that delves into the fascinating world of Duotone and Two-Color Riso Printing! This hands-on creative journey will take you through two distinct and captivating approaches to producing visually striking images using just two colors.
This workshop will explore how to work with layers in order to craft captivating visual narratives with depth and complexity. The second phase of the workshop will offer insights into the theory and aesthetics behind Duotone photography – a process of using two contrasting colors to create photographic images. Participants will walk away with 20 copies of their unique two-color print.
Fun Fact: Duotone was first used in the printing industry in the late 19th century, primarily with the sepia photograph, where various shades of brown coloring were used to create more visually and dynamic images.
This workshop is part 3 of a series of Riso workshops and requires participation in the previous Riso #1 workshop. You can also sign up for Part #4: Riso for Photography if you've completed the prerequisite!
Required Materials:
- Pencil and paper for taking notes
- A personal laptop with Adobe Suite or other image processing software.
- Clothes that can get stained or dirty (CBA will provide aprons, but the ink used on press can stain).
All other materials will be provided by CBA at no additional charge to the students.
