About the Workshop:

Welcome to “Ready, Set, RISO! Quick Publishing for Fast Times” – a workshop and creative challenge designed to equip participants with the skills needed to create their first RISO publications.

Discover the world of RISO printing and bring your creative vision to life in just two days. Guided by specific constraints and a curated set of tools, you’ll experience the entire process of developing, designing, printing, and finishing your RISO publication, whether it’s a print edition or a small zine. Throughout this immersive experience, you’ll gain a deep understanding of every stage of publishing.

This is part five in a series of five Riso workshops designed to build skills and familiarity with the risograph process. Riso #1: Hands-On Riso, Part #2: Analog Riso, Part #3: Duotone Riso Printing, and  Part #4: Riso for Photography are the prerequisites for this session.

Required Materials:

  • Pencil and paper for taking notes
  • Participants are welcome to bring any special material or equipment they would like to include in their publication.
  • Clothes that can get stained or dirty (CBA will provide aprons, but the ink used on press can stain).

All other materials will be provided by Center for Book Arts at no additional cost.
