In this workshop for kids (aged 8-13) and parents, students will explore the concept and making of a double accordion book or Dos-i-Do structure inspired by materials, methods and perspectives that will be presented by the instructor and her 8 years old son in the bindery studio at Center for Book Arts. \u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe course will focus on how to construct a simple but 3-D book with basic materials, by using printmaking and bookbinding techniques. The instructor will demonstrate how to construct an accordion book from pieces of paper, and will teaching how to use rubbing and stencil techniques for printing the content of the book. Students may also use other art forms, such as drawing, painting, or collage.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eBy the end of this course, students will reflect on what they created, and will continue their content of the book on their own!\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThere are a total of 12 spots open in this small-group workshop. She has also been awarded two NYFA grants and three Chilean grants.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eSan Martín has taught at the Center for Book Arts (NYC), Penland School of Craft (NC), Universidad de Chile, and Universidad Catolica de Chile and has conducted workshops for Vera List Center, The New School, and Weeksville Heritage Center.
