Artists’ Book Launch: Chatter with Rosaire Appel and Nicole Kaack

Please join us on Thursday, April 30th at 6pm at 28 West 27th Street, 3rd floor for the launch of Rosaire Appel’s artists´ book Chatter, produced in conjunction with the exhibition Shatter / Chatter: Rosaire Appel currently on view. 

Chatter departs from a series of drawings of the same name made between 1999 and 2025. Demonstrating how Appel’s practice bridges analogue and digital media, the sketches incorporate found materials, Illustrator graphics, photographs, and asemic inscriptions. Persisting with the artist’s impulse to continually edit and recycle existing work, the two-tone risograph edition presents “redlined” revisions of the original drawings.     

The evening will feature an activation of the book by Appel and curator Nicole Kaack, followed by a reception and signing.
